Here we are, a new update to start off the new month.
Unfortunately, as some of you may have noticed, things did not go according to plan. The last few months have been mired with work and medical issues, and, thusly, I was unable to keep the schedule I set in the previous post for my releases. For that I apologize, because I know a lot of you have been waiting for the next big update of Super Brawl Showdown! That’s why most of you are here, I’m sure.
Well, don’t worry, your ache for news will be filled very shortly. First, I’d like to talk about some of the other projects…
LantixPro Retrobits Release Date Change
I originally planned to get the Retrobits collection out pretty quickly, but obviously there were some snags leaving me unable to do the finishing touches. However, now that things are clearing up, I want to announce the new release date for the collection. Again, it will still be free, and serves as an interesting look into some of my older works with LantixPro Studios; with additional commentary.
Retrobits: The Early Works of LantixPro Studios is scheduled to be released on June 7th, 2024 for free.
I hope you choose to check it out. This is a collection of games that are unfinished, unrealized. They are playable, sure, but what matters is the emotion behind them– and these works are very close to my heart.
A Showdown looms in the distance…
Time for the important stuff! Super Brawl Showdown has been experiencing quite a large development slowdown since the beginning of the year. It’s been tough to make progress on the game in the current environment, especially since we have such a small team. A big part of what’s been holding me back from dropping all of the latest updates is presentation. Previous updates have resulted with some bugginess and jank that I want to eliminate.
Thankfully, as the year goes on, things are starting to clear up, and development continues. We’re approaching a version of the game that feels much smoother to play, and more fleshed out in terms of content. Some of the obvious changes will be an expansion of the movesets of older fighters, and a whole slew of stages, old and new.
One of the biggest things I am focusing on is the Campaigns and related Bosses. The original campaign has been expanded on and has a new unique character that can be played through in this storyline only. There will be more news on this in the future. In addition, each character in the second upcoming campaign will have their own unique storyline. Both of these will be available in the update, as well as a third upcoming campaign.
Additionally, all Beta Testers will soon be given access to builds of the game that have online multiplayer functionality. We are still in the early development phase, but are very excited to get closer to presenting this feature to the public. I know that it is one of the most highly-anticipated features for the game. I don’t expect it to be implemented in the next public release, but the one after that? Well… I’d like to think so.
Super Brawl Showdown’s Anniversary Update is scheduled to be released sometime in August 2024.
Given that there appears to be a history in-regards to SBSD where I give a release date and then it doesn’t come true… I’ve provided a more general answer with a lot more time to get some of these features taken care of and fully incorporated. I apologize for such a long wait, but I think it’ll be worth it.
Expect announcements and new trailers on the new YouTube Channel down below.
Journey into The Cascades
Oh boy. I made a mistake. For a long while I’ve had all sorts of ideas as to how to put together a Fallout game. The world is fun and interesting to play with, and over the years I’ve had my share of attempts at a storyline. Somewhere along the way, I actually decided to make a quick and easy demo to showcase some of my ideas and have a tangible piece of art to show for all of my thoughts and planning, right? I forgot to account for my ridiculous ambition. This is a real game now.
Fallout Cascades takes place in the American Northwest, 13 years following the events of Fallout: New Vegas. With the fall of the greater powers in the last decade, the Followers of the Apocalypse gather in the Cascades to debut the Intranet— an old-world technology they hope will unite new world in a new way.
I don’t want to get too much into the details at this time, but there is a wide world for the player to explore; and I am excited to introduce you all to it. The game is designed and written to hopefully serve as a faithful sequel more in the spirit of the original two games. A lot of love and care is going into it, and I hope you all take a peek at what the game has to offer.
There is currently no scheduled release date for Fallout Cascades. Expect video updates on the channel in the coming weeks, as well as a devlog to show off the game’s current features.
Snowball fights in July?
Some of you may already be aware, but I have been slowly developing an additional fan-project known as Snow Brawl Meltdown. It is to serve as the next installment in the classic Snow Brawl series of games.
It’s not as high priority as some of my other projects, which is why news has been quiet on this end. I actually began development last winter… between that and the delayed Christmas event in SBSD, I hope this doesn’t become a trend!
As you can see, there has already been a change in gameplay, and an additional character added. I have some unique ideas on how I’d like to improve on the previous games. Either way, I’ll keep you guys updated.
There is currently no scheduled release date for Snow Brawl Meltdown.
Planet Protector finally comes out??
It’s been a really, really long time.
This game was originally released with LantixPro Studios a while back, but I pulled it once I began working on an expanded version of the game. Since then, I’ve been adding bits and pieces to the original concept. What’s emerged is a much fuller experience than the simple concept of the original game.
I’ve been sitting on it for a while at this point, and I think the game is finally ready to return to the fray.
I’m excited to show off how the story has grown since the days of the original demo, and I hope you guys enjoy everything that’s been added. At its core, its still an old web game of yesteryear; but as you peel back the different layers, you will find there is much more to explore. Thanks for sticking with me all this time.
Planet Protector is scheduled to be released on June 28th, 2024 for $5 USD. Expect a new trailer to appear on the channel in the coming weeks.
